Free WARMF Training Workshop - March
28-30, 2006: US EPA's Watershed and
Water Quality Modeling Technical Support Center, Electric Power Research
Institute (EPRI) and Systech Engineering conducted a free WARMF training
workshop at US EPA Region 4, in Atlanta, Georgia. Forty-five attendees
from various organizations (federal/state/local governments, academia,
private industry, and consulting firms) gathered for 3 days to learn about
the theory and design of WARMF and have hands-on experience with the
application of WARMF to a watershed. It is expected that additional
workshops will be offered in the future. WARMF
Review Published - March/April, 2006: A
software review of WARMF was published in Southwest Hydrology, a
trade magazine created to inform and connect the water communities of the
semi-arid and arid Southwest. (http://www.swhydro.arizona.edu/).
WARMF received a rating of 4 out of 5 stars and the review is available
for download: WARMF
Review.
Public Release of WARMF - September 1, 2005: Systech
Water Resources, Inc. is pleased to announce the public domain release of
WARMF (Watershed Analysis Risk Management Framework). WARMF
version 6.1 is now available for download through the EPA Ecosystem
Research Division TMDL Modeling Toolbox (http://www.epa.gov/athens/wwqtsc/)
and is now compatible with EPA BASINS. The data extraction and
watershed delineation tools of BASINS can be used to set up a WARMF
application. A tutorial guide providing instructions on how to set up a
WARMF application with BASINS is included with the download of WARMF.
Additional information about WARMF availability
and technical support is available our
website.
WARMF Passed EPRI Testing - January 8, 2004:
WARMF
Version 5.23 was tested by EPRI's Software Engineering Team and received a
passing grade. Items tested included Virus Checking, Installation,
Solved Examples, Documentation, GUI & Stress Testing, Beta
Testing, and Planning Documents.
Palisades Development Approved - December 2, 2003:
Approval
of the Palisades Development Water Quality Management Plan was presented
to the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners. A re-zoning petition in
2001 prompted development of the plan by land developers Rhein Interests.
As part of this plan, Systech applied WARMF to eight (8) coves of Lake
Wylie and evaluated water quality impact under various development
scenarios which included several levels of best management practices (BMPs)
to protect water quality. Meeting

Santa Clara Stakeholder Group Awarded - October 23, 2003:
The Los
Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board of California EPA awarded the
Steering Committee for the Santa Clara River Nitrogen TMDL with a Waterbody
Restoration Award to recognize their efforts in using an inclusive
approach to developing a practicable and widely supported regulation that
will protect water quality along the 100-mile length of the Santa Clara
River. The stakeholder group used WARMF, developed and adapted by Systech Engineering,
throughout the consensus building process. Press Release
Santa Clara River TMDL Approved - September 23, 2003: Santa Clara
River TMDL accepted. The tool used to calculate the TMDL and determine
allocation was a WARMF application of the Santa Clara Basin developed by
Systech Engineering. Download

Chartiers Creek TMDL Approved - April 9, 2003: Chartiers
Creek Watershed metals TMDL approved by USEPA. Tetra Tech calculated
the TMDL using a WARMF application of the Chartiers watershed developed by
Systech. Download
